PARANORMAL researchers are investigating claims a man was hounded by bizarre lights after trying to "summon aliens" with a technique reportedly used by an expert.
The witness has reported the seemingly bizarre incident to the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) for its expert opinion.
US-based MUFON is the world's largest organisation dedicated to UFO and alien research and investigation.
The witness, who has not been named in a report released by MUFON, said they attempted a "contact 5 Protocol" technique used by Dr Steven Greer, while in New York.
Dr Greer, a former emergency room doctor, is one of the foremost alien believers in the US, who campaigns for the “government to release the truth about aliens on Earth”.
He also claims to be able to contact or summon aliens through a "contact 5 protocol" and teach others how to do it.
The witness said in their report: "I was walking with a companion from my home in Long Island City on 24th Street - another light, remaining stationary over that location, had changed colour from purple to red, in response to a specific request from me, at Steven Greer's online direction - when a similar purple light was seen hovering above a supermarket strip plaza on the south side.
"Immediately upon making eye contact, it began to follow us and continued to until arriving at Home Depot where it, for lack of a better description, waited for us at least a half-hour until we came out, also exhibiting the same behaviour when exiting a Popeye's and Food Bazaar on the way back, where another of them then seemed to join the one that had first appeared to me there."
MUFON is investigating the claims.
