Getting to know you....

I'll start to break the ice. I'm Debi, owner and admin here at the PNF. I'm married with 3 grown boys and raising my great nephew who we call Mr. 17. I have 5 dogs (2 belong to Mr. 17 who came with them), one very old cranky cat, and live in the middle of nowhere south of Indianapolis. Throw in a sprinkling of grandchildren and a life long pursuit of paranormal knowledge, and you've got the basics. I cannot function without coffee, need a dose of chocolate daily (it's medicinal, say I), have a love of reality TV, retired professional from the health care field, and am the none techie one of the team here.

I'm known as Debi, Owl, Bird, Ma Bird, or any combination of those here on the forum. I answer to hey you lady if needed! lol

Mr. 17 is the best name of all time.

Nice to meet you. I’m Wesley—cynical 28 year-old college student with decreasingly comical signs of agoraphobia. I’m graduating in May ‘18 with a professional writing degree and will hopefully attend a library school.

I write a lot—some fiction, some not. Now, I’m writing a short story about a plane crash. It’s disgusting, and I’ll post it in your forum.

My name is Michael and I am not intended for Commercial value.
Since Michael appears to lack understanding that this thread is to GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER, I will assist him by telling you he is one of the podcasters who has his show listed here in our Podcast section of the forum.

Very cool WandS! What types of work did you do when you were doing that?

Thanks for asking Seahunter. At first I was part of Marines’ Facilities Engineering which really means ‘maintenance’. On a good day I was outside painting metal structures on hot tropical days. But most days I was scrubbing rust out of the inside of 10’ x 3’ iron boilers from the inside using a tiny wire brush. That was a dirty, dirty stanky job.

Later I scheduled recreation facilities - pools, bowling alleys, movie theaters, fishing boats, etc. - for the USO. Two best parts were daily 1-mile swims in the military pools followed by free ice cream shakes at the USO, and escorting the visiting talent to their show venues on the bases.

Hi gang. I’m Lynne and am a 57 year old retired youth Specialist. I live in a small town in MI. My hobbies are riding horses and knitting. I too have a love animals and I live on my own petting farm with many pets.
My interest in the Paranormal comes from following Artbell and years of his coast to coast show. I myself have no obvious psysic abilities but I seem to be surrounded by those who do. My husband and daughter have had expierences along with other family members.
This forum has become a real joy to me and it feels like family here. I might add that Debi pays for this forum totally on her own dime. You don’t even see adds here. So the occasional donation is appreciated to help keep the lights on. She is too modest to say much. She has rescued most of us and has given us a place to call home.

Welcome to the family guys. It will be fun getting to know you all.

Our own official forum Muggle! Thank you for the warm welcome Lynne. I’ve noticed you are one of the most prolific readers and posters. I look forward to learning more about your interests as well as your perceptions on the paranormal.

I’m glad to meet another animal horder / border. My girlfriend had three horses when we moved from California. We couldn’t see moving them to the South East so they were left behind - one was sold, one died of very old age (sweet horse), and the third was donated to become a therapy horse for kids.

I’ll be contributing to the “This is us forum fund” as I know Debi can’t cover the tuition for all of us alone. But I’m glad she started it. I’d love to meet up with you all for movie night but I have some obligations that tie me up late.

Welcome fellow new-ish forum user. I just joined too in the past couple of weeks. Thank you for sharing your writings with us.

I hope your agoraphobia isn’t keeping you stuck inside. I’ve seen the degrees to which this can limit a person physically and emotionally.

Congratulation on your pending graduation. Your celebration is so very, very near.
