Anyone else hearing what I'm hearing?
Yes. John B sounds a little far from the mic, and the guest is definitely on a speaker phone. I just heard Jim Garrow on Hagmann & Hagmann (and have heard him on other shows as well) and he isn't normally on speaker. Hopefully the sound quality improves in future episodes.

As a sound quality aside, how do you record your show? I'm curious because my primary media player is Amarok, and it works just fine on 99% of the audio files I throw at it; but there is a handful of podcasts that it doesn't handle very well. The sound is very tinny with lots of background distortions, but the same files play perfectly in Kaffeine or VLC. One of them is a show called Sourcetrunk, and another is The Farside. I have wondered if it's something to do with the recording software/technique, or if it's something in Amarok. It just seems odd that it's always the same podcasts.
