I feel I give you 70k and you bring me framed plain canvas. There definitely will be feelings and I'll get my 70k back with interest that day!

The most original defense I've ever heard. As nuts as his idea of theft was, he still didn't deliver what was contracted for regardless if the act of stealing and presenting a blank canvas was considered art. He was paid to make a reproduction of a previous work that had paint on the picture.

In 7th grade I had a classmate turn in a blank page in art class. When asked what it was, he said, "It's a cow eating grass."

"Where's the grass?," asked the teacher.

"The cow ate it."

"Where's the cow?"

"It left. Why would it stick around if the grass is all gone."

The classmate became a very successful real estate agent.
