Let's see....

To make a long story short.....after being with a company for almost 8 years I was let go on Jan. 5. It was a major layoff and there were almost 40 other people let go at the same time. I was on unemployment, and then was blessed with a new job. The unfortunate thing was I had to take a considerable pay cut from what I had made at my previous job. The new company also couldn't provide any health benefits. All that being said, it was still a job with pay and was grateful to be employed.
Through this entire time, my wife and I hoped and prayed that somehow I would get my old job back. I am happy to say that this week I am thankful that I will be back at my old job as they have rehired me!. I once again will have full benefits and a pay raise. It will be as if I never left.

This week I’m lucky and grateful to have my employer ask me to take responsibility for moving four or five of our USA-built products into new UK markets. Seems though I always lay low and keep my head down, the VPs have recognized and have faith in my work.

Even better, though I have my own fears and doubts, my SO told me that she is confident I’m up to the challenge and can succeed. Total confidence booster. [insert creepy Alexa laugh here]

Well, after turning the opportunity down once last week, my VP indicated they can’t imagine anyone else taking on this role and they don’t have any second choice lined up. Seems she’d delayed an entire week telling our Senior VP that I declined. So today I accepted. Whooohoo...I hope.
