During last night's movie, the subject of "victim souls" or victim families came up. This was in the context of a priest doing an excorcism who stated that perhaps some families are haunted by demons as they were chosen to be part of the fight between good and evil.

Although this was presented in a Christian context, I do know that the theory of souls being part of the fight between good and evil preceeds even Christianity itself and talk of it goes back centuries even into the pagan past.

I am one who does believe there is an ongoing war between good and evil in the universe. This concept of victim souls does answer some of my ongoing questions about why some people suffer more than others, but I'd like to hear your take on this one.

First, is there such a thing as Victim Souls? Second, is there a war going on between good and evil?

I believe there is a battle going on we can’t see. I believe These unseen battles have the influence on the physical plane to impact families, communities, even international affairs.

I think that a victim soul would be someone who’s been impacted by supernatural threats from a very young age. I remember some terrifying things happen to me when I was 4. Being held up in the corner of my ceiling. A deep voice yelling at me in some unintelligible language. I’ve had other experiences where I’ve been physically attacked.

Maybe I’m a victim soul. But I keep up the fighter card over the victim card to give me that edge against these threats.

Contemplating a little more on the event, I think it was telling me it was a god. And to answer to it. I’ve heard the voice of God and I know that wasn’t him when I was 4.

Don't know about Victim Souls, but there is DEFINITELY a war going on between good and evil !!

I agree with you all. Obviously God must be allowing this if the people are believers. So there must be a purpose for it. I noticed in the movie we watched last night that this families ongoing need forced a dismissive church into action. It forced them to look at the evil and acknowledge it existed. Even if they didn’t do much at the time it was a well documented case that may have helped to wake up this generation of the church that the fight is real.

A good example of what we’re calling a victim soul would be Jobe. Jobe walked upright before god and god allowed the devil to attack his life. This showed that no one is sinless. Jobe proved he would not forsake his faith and god was able to use him as an example through time.

I hope there is a great reward for these tortured souls.
