Debi, you described that word in another very recent thread. You said it describes when a spirit moves an object.

Question, is it the right, best word to describe when a spirit manipulates but doesn’t significant move something? I had my wall light switches physically switched on. I’m wondering what word best describes that action.

I already know the word “annoying” so you don’t have to offer up that one.

Apport is when a spirit/entity actually moves something out of our dimension to another. They can then send it back through to reappear here. Not necessarily at the same spot of disappearance, however. Sometimes things will be "moved" to other rooms/areas. You may even hear a "pop" sound when this occurs. I once had a key hit my head on it's return (after I demanded it back) and Lynne has had something manifest out of the air above her as well.

The light switches are sheer manipulation! lol Annoying, yes. But the entity is not actually moving something out of our dimension in this case. It's simply manipulating it.

Synchronisticly, Chip Coffey, who is a psychic medium, just described an apport yesterday that happened to him.

Chip Coffey - Psychic and Medium
Last night, I discovered that one of my credit cards was missing. After searching high and low for it, I finally called and requested a replacement card.

This morning, immediately after waking up, one of my first thoughts was about the lost card. As I sat up I bed, I watched as about 2-3 feet in the air in front of me, something appeared out of thin air and dropped onto the floor. I looked down and there was the missing credit card.

Whereas I sincerely appreciate the return of the card, I just wish it had happened BEFORE I requested a replacement.

Should I keep checking my account to see if there are any unauthorized charges from The Twilight Zone?!?!?

Thank you Debi for reiterating the definition. I understand now that apport is not the appropriate description for my lighting issue.

Another funny synchronized point. Before I scrolled down to read the Coffey posting, I was thinking that the new vocabulary word “apport” explains why my checking account balance keeps moving in previously mysterious and dramatic ways!

Okay Debi, you posted those occurrences of “apporting” that you and Lynne experienced with only a few adjectives. I can volunteer that if I ever recognized an object materialized in front of or above me, I would be materializing the need for a new pair of shorts! For some reason I am able to control my reactions to hearing things, feeling emotions, and sensing knowledge/thoughts. However, the few times I have seen something, I have always lost it.

I just made up a new paranormal term - “a-poo-t”.

OK, further explanation necessary on why I don't get shocked when these things happen. I have been experiencing the paranormal since my earliest memories...about age 5. I was also raised in a home where my father saw these things as just "normal", which instilled in me at a young age a sense of acceptence of these kind of events. Dad was Native American, and what he described as a "Dreamwalker". He was able to astral project and walk in the dreamworld. I picked up some of his gifts. When you are raised in a home where it's treated normal, it just becomes normal. Doesn't mean I don't jump a little when it happens, but I have been known to yell at an entity to "give it back or I'm gettin' the sage out!"

We’ll that explains some stuff Debi. Family dynamics as well as blood heritage can make a difference.

My family was certainly a lot more closed than your’s on the subject of magick. Though I know my Dad (deceased) loved me, he was a fairly harsh person. He had what would certainly have been diagnosed today as PTSD - it was generally called “shell shock” back in his day. He was in two wars and he was MIA for awhile too. He was a very practical man except for the one time he told me the US government had aliens in captivity. I’m certain my Mom’s mom was psychic and I believe my sister (deceased) hid her psi senses. I don’t get the impression that either of my older brothers (one deceased) had psi tendencies. My aunt by marriage was full blood Blackfoot Native American. The first time I met her - at about 8 or 9 years old - I could feel energy just flowing out of her all the time. It took me another 8 years before I’d feel anything similar again.

It wasn't all easy on my end, as my mom hated to even hear about it. Dad and I kept it rather quiet...lol Mom wanted God to send her a business card for proof of existance. In fact, when I started showing my "gifts", she had me tested for a brain tumor. She would explain away anything that happened of the paranormal sort around the house. It wasn't until much later in life she actually admitted she knew it was paranormal but was so afraid of it she refused to acknowledge it.

My dad and his side of the family were just so open about it all that this outweighed my mom's denial.
