A bizarre video from Cusco, Peru appears to capture the creepy antics of a 'possessed' doll purportedly moving and speaking despite having her batteries removed.

In the footage, a group of people can be seen gathering around the eerie-looking toy and curiously watching it as it sits on a bench chattering away and moving its head.

However, when one observer takes the doll and turns it over, they are astounded to see that it has no batteries and one witness gasps, "oh my god" while the others seemingly murmur concern.

Little else is known about the odd video, leaving viewers to determine for themselves if they just witnessed a possessed doll or something more prosaic.

Rightfully suspicious observers have also argued that there is chicanery involved, perhaps involving an alternative power source for the doll or some other shenanigans.

Regardless, there is something undeniably unsettling about the scene, although that often seems to be the case involving 'haunted' dolls.

Why did they have batteries on hand to put in the doll? I don't often carry AA batteries with me but maybe it's a regional thing lol

What would you need them for? Have you ever used them? Not at home!

HA! You'd be amazed....lol Grandkids buy new toy, want to use it now, need batteries for ride home. Do I want to have hidden batteries for when I want them cuz the kids use all the rest? You betcha! It's kinda my stash.

This is why I carry a purse with emergency supplies. I never have any left when I need it...except in my purse! And the kids know if they touch my purse they will pay for that! It's sacred ground!

That is a creepy looking doll. However when they turned her over it didn't look like the battery spot. It looked like a teddy Rexpin type of story telling doll. The place she opens looks like where tapes are stored. The battery spot may be in another area. Those story dolls are very animated too
