Most of the Cajuns were raised speaking english and french and some only english because at one time they were trying to assimilate them into "regular" culture and would not allow them to speak french in school.

The "younger" ones don't have much of an accent, so I'm sure we could understand them.

The older ones would have told much better stories.

There was a paranormal reality series a couple of years ago with this setting and the Cajun werewolf. I don't remember it's name, but it was really bad, and poorly scripted.
